Size matters?

Sorry but it is Blue Monday and I feel like a bit of a rant coming on

Does anyone else feel that the sizing of clothing brands is still ridiculously varied? I can go from a size 12 in one store to a 16 in another on virtually the same item of clothing. Why do manufacturers do this? Why isn’t there standard sizing? I don’t know about you but it’s not only annoying but also disheartening.

I also find it very frustrating when I am online and look at clothing in, for example, a size 14, to find that it is classed as XL. When did a size 14 become an XL?! I think that this is an extremely unhealthy message to give to any young girl that a perfectly healthy size 14 is deemed as being extra large and a size 12 therefore a large.

Are we fuelling the rise of Ozempic and other weight loss drugs by this message?

Thoughts on this?

  1. This is very true! Brands should adhere to standardized sizing charts to avoid unintentionally promoting body dysmorphia.

    1. I agree totally. It’s very disheartening to be a medium in some shops then an xl in others. Zara, as much as I love you, you are very guilty of this!
